The Volk 20D lens is perhaps the most recognized lens in the world. It is the originator of the heritage of double aspheric lens design and is still considered a gold standard. This is due to the 20D's perfect balance between field of view and magnification.
The 50 mm working distance also makes lens handling comfortable for the examiner.
This lens is perfect for general patient diagnosis, with 3x magnification and a field of view that allows visualization right down to the middle peripheral region. Dynamic examination with appropriate patient eye movements enables visualization of the peripheral retina, and detailed examination in the primary position provides a complete estimate of retinal health. This lens is therefore an excellent choice for both first-line diagnosis and high-level central retinal examination.
