SUPERIOR QUALITY AND LONGEVITY
In collaboration with Dr. Fankhauser, Meridian launched the first commercial Nd:YAG laser in 1982. The MR Q SLT incorporates the DNA of the Microruptor II, synonymous with innovation, reliability and efficiency. Meridian Medical's MR Q SLT combines powerful Nd:YAG with SLT photoregeneration, and offers the option of coupling it with Meridian's photocoagulators. Meridian Medical carefully selects the best European components and technologies to assemble its lasers. We offer our users a robust, reliable device. The MR Q SLT housing is made from a high-quality aluminum monoblock, giving it unique strength and dust-free electronics.
EASY TO USE
The MR Q SLT features a powerful dual laser module with an Nd:YAG laser combined with a precise SLT photoregenerator. It features a 7" touch-screen control panel. Placed on either side of the table, they enable users to easily view laser parameters and choose between laser mode, burst and offset options. The optional V-mirror tower enables coaxial Nd:YAG treatments. This tower provides a red reflection that results in backlighting of the posterior capsule, ideal for high-end IOL treatments. The laser head and slit lamp buttons are ergonomically positioned on either side of the slit lamp. The MR Q SLT has proven effective in treating open-angle glaucoma as a primary therapy, see the "Recommended settings" table on page 10.
SAFETY
The MR Q SLT incorporates features that guarantee better treatment, safer laser shifting and faster response. Digital anterior and posterior shifting enables the user to visualize the location of the laser focus, and issues a clear warning when anterior shifting is selected, minimizing user error. The control panel requires double confirmation to switch safely from one laser mode to the other, and the display changes color to give a visual signal. The electronically controlled offset resets to 200 μm posterior after the laser is switched on; this unique feature minimizes the risk of firing at the wrong position, thus avoiding the risk of lens pitting. The red reflection(1) resulting from retroillumination of the posterior capsule optimizes axial capsulotomy. This feature enables transparent assessment of the integrity, shape and position of the capsulotomy edges in relation to the rings of high-end multifocal intraocular lenses, with a higher success rate and greater patient satisfaction.
FLEXIBILITY AND COMFORT
The MR Q SLT features a two-column table with a wide top. This configuration facilitates access for patients in wheelchairs and provides an ideal workspace for the attending physician. The unique design of the chinrest ensures a comfortable, relaxed and ergonomic position for the patient during treatment, while the user has unobstructed access to the patient. The slit lamp offers an optional tonometer holder for use as a diagnostic device. Meridian engineers can access the MR Q SLT remotely, offering a unique online service.
