With a 144° field of view, this lens provides a wide field of view extending to the peripheral retina for the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral retinal lesions. This lens is specially designed to provide a wide field of view even through small pupils. This application is essential when evaluating and treating patients—such as those at risk for angle-closure glaucoma, iris neovascularization, etc.—in whom dilation must be avoided. The ability to see through a small pupil is also advantageous when treating geriatric patients, in whom the pupil’s response to dilation is limited. The lens’s large flange provides the stability and control over the eye required during laser procedures.
