The Lang-Stereotest® is an easy-to-use screening tool designed for the early detection of spatial vision problems in children. The test is designed for rapid screening of stereoscopic vision in all age groups starting at 6 months and includes a star, a cat, and a regular car that appear to stand out from the background at different distances.
The Lang-Stereotest® I is an orthoptic product for binocular diagnosis and screening of stereo vision disorders, intended for healthcare professionals. Since the loss of stereopsis is considered a key symptom of amblyopia (lazy eye), failure to detect random-dot stereograms may indicate a previously undetected and treatable binocular vision disorder (e.g., microstrabismus, anisometropia).
The Lang-Stereotest has proven to be highly specific and highly sensitive to stereo vision. Thanks to a unique combination of random dots and lenticular images, special glasses are not required, and eye movement patterns remain observable.
Important: The Lang-Stereotest® does not measure visual acuity and is not a substitute for an ophthalmological examination. A negative test result—that is, the inability to recognize the figures—simply indicates impaired stereopsis at the time of the examination.
