With a field of view of 144°, this lens provides wide field visualization to the peripheral retina for diagnosis and treatment of peripheral retinal defects. This lens is specially designed to allow wide field visualization even through small pupils. This application is essential in the evaluation and treatment of patients such as those at risk of angle closure, iris neovascularization, etc. in whom dilation should be avoided. The ability to see through a small pupil is also advantageous when treating geriatric populations in whom the pupil's response to dilation is limited. The large flange of this lens provides the perfect stability and control of the eye needed during laser procedures.
